Editorial Standards

How we decide what to publish.

Biosphere Health exists because most consumer health information sits at one of two extremes: oversimplified marketing or unreadable academic literature. We sit between them — clinically rigorous, plainly written, and fully transparent about what we don't know.

Principle .01

Independence

We accept no advertising, sponsored content, or supplement-industry funding. Operating revenue comes from institutional library subscriptions only.

Principle .02

Clinician review

Every article is drafted by a credentialed writer and reviewed by a licensed clinician practicing in the relevant field. Reviewers are credited by name.

Principle .03

Evidence grading

We use a modified GRADE framework: A (multiple high-quality RCTs aligned), B (consistent observational + RCT evidence), C (mixed or limited), D (mechanism only).

Principle .04

Living updates

Every article carries a 'last reviewed' date. Major new evidence triggers a re-review within 90 days. Substantive corrections are logged publicly.

Principle .05

Disclosure

Reviewers disclose any financial relationships, speaking fees, or research funding annually. Conflicts disqualify a reviewer from the topic in question.

Principle .06

Plain language

Jargon is defined inline. Absolute risks are presented alongside relative risks. We write for an educated layperson, not for clinicians.

Jarrod Manfro is a health optimization strategist and the Editor-in-Chief of the BioSphere Intelligence Engine, where he leads the development of a modern framework for human performance, longevity, and metabolic health.

His work is centered on one principle: the future of healthcare belongs to those who can integrate it. By combining physician-led medicine, structured coaching, data systems, and emerging therapies, Jarrod has built BioSphere to function as an operating system for optimizing the human body at scale.

He specializes in translating fragmented medical information into clear, strategic pathways that high-performing individuals can execute—bridging the gap between clinical insight and real-world results.

Jarrod also serves as Chief Healthcare Strategist for BioSphere Human Optimization, where he architects the integration of clinical care, coaching systems, and data infrastructure across the organization's ecosystem.

In parallel, he is Vice President of Healthcare Strategy at Everlong, a cutting-edge nutrition platform focused on expanding access to clinically supported nutritional care through innovative payer and provider partnerships. His work includes developing strategic alliances, optimizing reimbursement models, and scaling access to high-impact, preventative health services.

Jarrod's background includes leadership roles in healthcare partnerships and growth strategy, where he developed complex provider networks and value-based care initiatives. He holds an MBA from Marist College and has extensive training in performance, nutrition, body composition optimization, and functional medicine.

Nothing on Biosphere Health constitutes individual medical advice. The information here helps you ask better questions of a clinician who knows your history. It does not replace that relationship — and we will never pretend otherwise.
